When you just bought a summer house, you fill yourself like still having that much money which you actually spent. After your happy buying, the construction repair phase goes. Next is coming furniture, gardening… Utility bills are faded in a background of these huge spendings. But one day, all of a sudden, you found yourself with 450 Euro monthly bill for electricity.
One of my friends invited me for his housewarming celebration after he finished full construction of a new house near the Nice. While broiling unbelievable Spanish beef, I stared at four (!) condensers mounted right in the garden.
- What are they cooling, - I've asked him.
- Look at this pool and that multi-leveled waterfall. And there is open jacuzzi… All motors managing this "aqua park" need much cooling, pal!
After a few moments of mutism, I said: "Can you imagine your monthly spendings for electricity?!" I don't remember the exact answer. Something like "who cares".
Today his house is mothballed for the whole year. Before that, it consumed more than five thousands Euro per month.
